About Us

Rio Grande Valley Harm Reduction is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of drug users in the Rio Grande Valley by implementing harm reduction strategies, conducting outreach, and garnering public support.

Services include Harm Reduction Supply Distribution, where we provide sterile syringes, naloxone (a medication that reverses opioid overdoses), and other supplies to reduce the risks of infection and overdose.

Our Outreach Programs feature a street-based team that connects with individuals directly to offer supplies, education, and support. The team members have personal experiences with drug use and recovery, ensuring empathetic and effective service delivery.

In Public Support and Advocacy, we advocate for policies and practices that aid individuals who use drugs, aiming to reduce stigma and improve public health. We work alongside local communities, healthcare providers, and policymakers to create a safer environment for all.

Through Education and Training, we offer sessions for community members, healthcare professionals, and law enforcement on harm reduction principles and practices, fostering a more informed and compassionate approach to drug use.
